September 12, 2008, Newsletter Issue #207: Protect Your Mac!

Tip of the Week

If you download files from the internet, run your Mac on a network, or take in files from outside sources, your Mac is in danger of contracting a virus.
While Macs are not as susceptible to virus attack as PCs, the increasing number of Macs in use ensures that there will be a similar increase in virii that affect the Mac.
To protect your Mac, get a good Anti-virus Program, and use it regularly. I use Virex, and have it set up to check every incoming file as it is brought into the machine. I have several other virus-checkers as well, and run them any time something suspicious happens.
It may take a few extra moments, but believe me, the time is well spent!
