Apple lists the the power button on the newer iMacs as a "known problem." Apparently the bracket holding the power button can get out of alignment, making it difficult to start. The "fix" for now is to use the power button in the keyboard.
Unfortunately, the original Bondi Blue iMac does not have a slot for an Airport card. At this time, there is not a way to use Airport with this version of the iMac.
