January 2, 2009, Newsletter Issue #223: Hidden Files Eat Space in OS9

Tip of the Week

If youīre using OS9, you might have noticed that your hard drive is filling up faster than you think it ought to. This is due to a bug in OS9 that prevents the deletion of invisible temp files when the system shuts down, as is standard procedure in all previous OSīs.

How to dump those invisible files? There are several utilities available for download, like "Empty Temp Folder" and "AutoPurge." I prefer AutoPurge, myself. Itīs freeware, and you can download it from: http://www.stimpsoft.com/downloads.html
