How can I delete a large block of text without dragging through it?

Text - Selecting Large Blocks of Text

Ever had to delete a large block of text? You click at the beginning, then drag, drag, drag through the pages as they scroll. Kind of a drag, eh?
A simpler way is to click at the beginning of the text block, then, holding the shift key, page down to the end of it and click again. Presto, the whole block is selected.
